Chuck Johnson is a composer and musician residing in Oakland, CA. He approaches his work with an ear towards the faults and instabilities that reveal latent beauty, with a focus on guitar, experimental electronics, and "folk minimalist" composition. In recent years Johnson has released solo guitar recordings for Three Lobed and Strange Attractors Audio House and has appeared on the Beyond Berkeley Guitar and Imaginational Anthem compilations on Tompkins Square. His latest solo guitar release Blood Moon Boulder will be available on Scissor Tail Editions in early summer 2015. Johnson’s recent credits as a composer for film and television include the HBO documentary Private Violence and the PBS series A Chef's Life. In 2009 he received an MFA in Electronic Music and Intermedia Art from Mills College.
